About Me

The goal of our firm is to work alongside our clients so that they can reach their personal and business financial objectives. What differentiates us from other firms is the personalized service that we provide. We work hard to stay informed about the most recent tax laws and, more importantly, the impact of these laws on the financial lives of our clients. We do this to better serve our clients, allowing them to focus on running their businesses, spend time with their families, and live life!

For our business clients, our goal is to help them prosper. We accomplish that by suggesting ways to increase revenues, lower expenses, improve efficiency and lower their tax burden, all of which leads to more money in their pockets. Many of our business clients are closely held companies established as regular corporations, S-corporations, LLC's, partnerships, or sole proprietors.

Every return is analyzed by a Certified Public Accountant with years of tax training and experience to make sure that every available credit and deduction is utilized. Once a return is completed, we email a copy to our clients for review so, if there are any questions, we can discuss them. Also, we don’t disappear from May through November; we’re available to our clients all year should any questions or issues arise.

Services include income tax research, planning and preparation, financial statements (audits, reviews, and compilations) financial forecasting and budgeting.

Melinda Bucknam

Melinda Bucknam started this firm 15 years ago after receiving her training from two of the largest international accounting firms in the world, then Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand. Her experience comprises preparation of all types of tax returns and financial statements such as audits, reviews and compilations. She is also skilled in the setup of books and accounting systems for new businesses. As a supervisor at Coopers & Lybrand, Melinda oversaw audits, corporate and individual tax return preparation, conducted tax research and developed tax planning strategies. She became fluent in many different accounting software programs in which she trained clients and other accounting professionals.

Melinda graduated from the University of Florida, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a major in Finance. While working for Price Waterhouse in Miami, she was enrolled in the Masters of Taxation program at Florida International University where she completed six courses.

In the community, Melinda is a board member of the Domestic Violence and Rape Crises Services of Saratoga County, where she serves as the Finance Committee Chairman. She is on the SSHS Planning board committee. She was an Ambassador with the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce from 2005 through 2008.

With Melinda's comprehensive academic background, broad experience in major accounting firms, and fifteen years serving the business community in upstate New York, Melinda has a well-rounded and unique perspective that she brings to every client.
